We are the third largest school classification in the MHSAA system. From archery to cross-country, to football and beyond, we have plenty of sporting and extracurricular activity opportunities, on very successful teams with tradition and expectation of future success. Lawrence County School District was recently graded with a B grade overall by the Mississippi Department of Education.

Lawrence County Career & Technical Center

Our Vocational-Technical Center is one of the best in the state, allowing for students who so choose to follow a technological based career track to do so with excellent instructional expertise, equipment, introductory hands-on experience that provides them with an excellent beginning foundation. This technical and career center offers a wide variety of courses that allow students an introduction into careers and skills/trade programs.

Our technical center works closes with Lawrence County Community Development Association to educate students on workforce training, Copiah Lincoln Community College, and the importance of the ACT Work Ready Skills Assessment.

Lawrence County does not house any higher education institutes itself, but there is no shortage of opportunity here. We are in the middle of it all and are less than a 1 to 1.5 hour drive from some of the major public, private, and community college and universities in the state of Mississippi.

Lawrence County is located in the district of Copiah Lincoln Community College which was credited as the Mississippi Community College with the highest graduation rate and ranked as the #2 overall Mississippi community college.

The Copiah Lincoln Community College offers some of the best programs in the state for students of all kinds. They have a strong programs whether you are looking for an associate’s degree before continuing your education at a university, a student who is looking to learn a skill or trade before entering the workforce, someone emerging back into the workforce, or an industry looking to get specialized training for current employees. Whatever your needs are as a citizen or industry the Lawrence County Community Development Association along with Copiah Lincoln Community College is here to assist.

Lawrence County Hospital

Lawrence County Hospital has provided excellent community care to Lawrence County since 1960. The 25 bed hospital features 125 caring employees and since October of 2001 has been a vital branch of the Southwest Health System. They also earned the designation in 2002 as a Critical Access Hospital.
